Inpatient Program for Adolescents
Our adolescent inpatient programs are designed to provide crisis stabilization and help patients and families develop healthy coping skills needed to navigate life challenges. Once they achieve stability, our goal is to equip adolescent patients and their families with effective coping skills and communication techniques. Upon completion of an inpatient stay, patients are encouraged to explore the benefits of completing the Highlands continuum which means transitioning to one of our outpatient programs. Through the discharge planning process from all levels of care, the treatment team helps patients find external care providers for continued recovery after discharge.
Our team works with each patient to provide an individualized treatment plan. As soon as the patient is admitted, we begin planning for a successful return to the community, which may include continuing care with a psychiatrist, therapist or other community resources.
Treatment includes group therapy, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, art therapy, medication management, safety planning, crisis observation, emotion regulation, problem-solving and discharge planning.
